Vikings Place Sword On The Left-Side In The Grave

A team of archaeologists from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) the University of Science in Norway. They unearthed a Viking warrior with his/her sword on the left side. They said one of the theories is that Vikings perceived the afterlife to be a mirror image of the real world. Archaeologists said it’s to be 1,100 years old grave and the sword 2.6foot long (80 cm).
“The idea is that this placement must reflect some beliefs that were important in the mortuary rites” and the other Viking items are often found to be placed in the mirrored was what normal. Also, the Viking wasn’t the only one to do this. It is a notion of several beliefs and religions across time and space.
But some of the team members said that the reason for the sword on the left side is because he/she was right-handed and they have found other graves like this one. Now the question is did he/She die in battle or natural causes. I think if they did die in battle it would be an honorable death with a sword on the chest and arms crossed the sword.
